Really Good!

The Little Green Book is a cool book, which has a lot of questions/answers, based on the content of the great Radiology Review Manual. These books are amazing and all the radiology residents, and radiologists too, should have it. Enjoy!

Best little book I have ever run across.

Wonderful book with questions oriented for new residents in radiology, residents preparing for the written and also residents preparing for the oral examination. It is even a little helpful for physics, but that is what my other little favorite book is for (Huda). You don't even need Dahnert to use or understand this book, but it helps. (I like Primer better.) I love it because it starts with a case presentation, gives a diagnosis as well as a differential and numerous questions that really test your knowledge with excellent explanations that I have found to be very accurate, up to date and with very good references.

Vou fazer este "review" em português porque este livro está em Português, eu o comprei em conjunto com o livro Step by Step Ms Project 2010. Primeiramente li o livro step by step e depois este do Ricardo Vargas. Minha intenção era a de certificar-me e o livro do Ricardo funcionou como um review do Step by Step.

Bem, o livro é direto e cobre bem todos os aspectos necessários e alguns que eu até desconhecia.

Não posso deixar de recomendar porque depois de ler os "DOIS" livros consegui passar na primeira tentativa e com 90% de acerto na prova. Portanto, os dois livros mereceram boas estrelas. O Step By Step é situacional, a todo exemplo existe uma situação em que aquilo poderia ser aplicado. O livro do Ricardo peca neste aspecto e por isso dei 4 estrelas, ficou um pouco parecido com o Help da Microsoft.
É isso, um abraço.

As a Kindle book, not as expected

I bought it as a Kindle book, and I was disapointed that I could not navigate easily between chapters, coming back and forth, as you need with a learning book. I should have remembered that before I bought the book, because that is the only great disadvantage of my Kindle (3 years old).
So, If the newer Kindles also cannot do this, there has to be a warning. I would certainly have bought it then as normal book.
The text is good, well explained, although somewhat short on the subjects, so it is not for beginners. The figures - illustrations - are terrible to see, small and too faded. I hope, only in the E-book edition.

Kashmir---Superb History of Health Care.

In this well researched and referenced book the author Dr. Gulza Mufti takes the reader down the history of Kashmir over the past 150 plus years. The readers will be `shocked' to learn that the beautiful valley of Kashmir was sold, yes that's correct, its inhabitants and all its mountains, rivers, lakes were sold by the British to Raja Gulab Singh for Rupees 7.5 million on March 16,1846 and the purchaser Gulab Singh made a triumphant entry to the valley on Nov 9th 1846. The people lived in miserable conditions with virtually no access to the outside world, exploited by the rulers, prone to epidemics of various diseases and to top it off prone to frequent natural disasters like earthquakes. The atmosphere was of despair, disease and hopelessness.
In this environment health care was primitive and the author describes in some detail the role of barbers, midwives, leech appliers and hakims in health care delivery. There were no hospitals to speak of. The vast majority of people were Muslims with strong traditions of Sufism.
Using health providers as missionaries the British tried to `convert' the natives, in this they failed miserably however in the process some of the missionaries helped in setting some standards and institutions for health delivery and education. Some of the major contributors were Biscoe who established a boys school, the Neves brothers--Arthur and Ernest laid the foundation for some allopathic institution's some of which are still functioning. The first known description of "Kangri Cancer" a unique form of thermal induced skin Cancer in Kashmir was described by the Neve's. Ms. Muriel P Mallinson established a girls school and she spent over forty years and helped educate thousands of girls.
While all this was happening the British rule over India was weakening with an awakening for freedom in the 1920's and 30's, the world war 11 was the final straw leading to the end of British rule in India in 1947 and partitioning of India into two countries--India and Pakistan. The author skillfully takes the reader through the events of 1947 and the impact it had on Kashmir resulting in an ongoing unresolved conflict and three subsequent wars between India and Pakistan in 1948, 1965 and 1999 with the Kashmiris caught in the middle.
In spite of this unstable environment an allopathic medical school was established in 1959 which has graduated thousands of doctors who continue to provide valuable service in Kashmir and the rest of the world. The author was a graduate from the first batch and he along with others have provided valuable service to many around the world including the British citizens.
In summary this book is a valuable resource for information regarding the happenings in Kashmir over the past 150 years. I recommend it to all who have an interest in trying to understand the history of the Indian subcontinent using the Kashmir health care development as a guide. While the British colonizers have the unique distinction of having sold the people and resources of Kashmir to a tyrannical regime of rulers, the Brits did make some amends in helping establish the modern day education and health care in Kashmir, from which the author of this book Dr. Mufti and I benefitted.

Small but Powerful

I read a lot of christian books from many authors and denominations. Some of my favorites, The Master Plan of Evangelism, A Tale of Three Kings, are small but powerful. I have read this book more than once and recommended more than I can count. It faithfully but truly describes Satan's attacks in a way that is riveting. The equivalent to When Satan attacks on Discovery HD, it really brings the spiritual battle to light. This is a must read for every Christian.

Practical, inspiring, and challenging

This book can be read in one sitting. But don't! Each chapter is a great illustration of how Satan tempts us. I recommend taking a day to chew on each short chapter. Mike uses very practical illustrations from African life to illustrate how Satan deceives and how we can fight his attacks. Taliaferro is one of the best at using graphic and colorful illustrations to make spiritual points. While this book is an easy one to read, it is also very deep and challenging. I rarely finish books quickly, but I finished this one in a few days. A must read for anyone who wants to follow Jesus.

A warning to stay aware

This is a small book and an easy read. However, do not be misled by the size, because it is a riveting description of how Satan attacks like a lion. The author compares the methods of lions attacking victims to Satan attacking Christians. Since the Bible also gives this comparison, it is Biblically sound to compare the two and to take note of the methods of attack used by the lion. It is very thought-provoking.
